My Story

Meet Cyrus! This sweet boy is a lovable, high-energy goofball with a big personality and an even bigger heart! At just 2 years old, this handsome black-and-white pup is equal parts playful companion and affectionate cuddle-seeker. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep life exciting, Cyrus may be your perfect match! Cyrus absolutely adores people and isn’t shy about asking for attention, especially if belly rubs are involved! He already knows "sit" and enjoys being part of the action, whether that means going on adventures or romping around with his favorite squeaky toy. Cyrus is social with other dogs and loves to play, though his enthusiasm can sometimes be a bit much for some. He has a bouncy, energetic play style and may do best with dog friends who enjoy rough-and-tumble fun or can help show him polite play manners! Because of his excitement level, we recommend a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs before adoption. This energetic guy will thrive in a home ready for fun, training, and plenty of activity. With continued guidance and an outlet for all that enthusiasm, Cyrus is sure to grow into an incredible companion full of love, laughter, and loyal friendship! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt
