My Story

*This animal is located at our same-day adoption center partner, St. Louis Park PetSmart. Please contact this location prior to visiting to ensure this animal is still available. A paper adoption application will be completed on site so please do not submit an online adoption application. For more information on adopting from one of our adoption center partners, please visit our Adoption Center Animals page Hi, I'm Asher... and I'd like to file a complaint. Apparently "climbing humans like trees" and "treating every room like an obstacle course" are *not* considered normal kitten behavior. When I first arrived, I fooled everyone into thinking I was a quiet, polite little gentleman. That act lasted approximately 30 seconds. Once I realized I was safe? GAME ON. I'm a full-time athlete, part-time comedian, and professional toy assassin. Jingle balls? Destroyed. Wand toys? Caught. Tunnels? Conquered. Before every attack, I perform my signature butt wiggle to let everyone know the chaos is about to begin. I also have a world-class purr. I'll happily climb onto your shoulder, rumble directly into your ear, soak up a few cuddles... then suddenly remember I have important kitten business elsewhere. Affection is wonderful-as long as it doesn't interrupt playtime. Meal time is my favorite sporting event. The second I realize wet food is being prepared, I announce it to the entire neighborhood with a tiny-but-mighty scream that somehow comes out of this adorable little body. I'm litter box trained (I simply prefer to help choose where the boxes go), love being picked up, and am endlessly curious about everything... except suspiciously large cardboard boxes. Those require further investigation from a safe distance first. Because I'm still in my goofy, bitey, "everything is a toy" kitten phase, I'd do best with older kids who understand playful kittens. I'd also absolutely love another energetic kitten or a patient adult cat who can help teach me proper kitty manners while keeping up with my endless zoomies. If you're looking for a calm lap cat, I'm probably not your guy. But if you're ready for nonstop laughs, epic parkour performances, thunderous purrs, and a tiny best friend with a huge personality, I promise to keep life entertaining every single day. Signed, Your future chaos coordinator ---- Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
