Banksy

Banksy 2 years old Neutered Male Short Hair Tabby Banksy was a TNR who didn't quite go as planned. Trapped by a friend of the rescue at a local bank, we were surprised to learn the vet thought he was likely someone's kitten who got left outside, and became semi-feral. Like a child raised by wolves. He knows humans, he trusts humans to an extent, and he would rather be indoors than outside. But he's not affectionate- he will not seek out human contact 95% of the time. He might tolerate a pet here and there, but he certainly wont sit on the couch WITH you.... If you put a cat tree next to the couch, that's actually ok though. Baby steps. Barking dogs are not his favorite, and children are a hard no. Banksy would rather not be around anything loud and rowdy, and tends to play 'the floor is lava' with our cat-friendly dogs at the rescue, despite knowing they will not harm him. He's a hard sell, we know. BUT! He LOVES other cats! Banksy could give or take his human housemates, but other kitties are his favorite thing since wall perches! We've caught him curled up with many other cats in the rescue, snuggled in for a snooze in a cat tree basket with a couple kittens at once. This man LOVES his feline company, which is about what you'd expect of a semi-social colony cat. "Feeder Friendly" is a term used by colony caretakers for the cats that learn to trust them, and that accurately fits Banksy, if he were still outdoors. But he doesn't want to be outdoors, he wants to be inside, watching TV from a high perch, supervising you from a distance, and gettin his nap on with any other cat who'll let him cuddle. Sure, we'll need a couple days to catch him for you... but we're willing to put in the effort if it means he gets a home of his own, and another cat to be best friends with til the end of his days.
