My Story

Meet Bobcat Some cats wear their story on their hearts. Bobcat wears his in his walk. At just 3.5 years old, this handsome brown and white tabby has already overcome more than most cats ever should. When Bobcat arrived in our care, we noticed he had a quirky little walk and liked to stretch his back legs often. X-rays revealed old fractures in his hip and pelvis, likely the result of being hit by a car sometime before he was rescued. Despite everything he's been through, Bobcat never let his past define him. He has been thoroughly evaluated by veterinary physical therapists, who agree that he's stable, comfortable, and ready to find his forever family. They are even happy to speak with potential adopters to answer any questions and help ensure everyone feels confident about his care. While it's possible he may develop arthritis as he gets older, right now Bobcat is an active, playful, happy-go-lucky guy who doesn't let his old injuries slow him down one bit. And his personality? It's impossible not to fall in love. Bobcat is the kind of cat who greets life—and people—with pure joy. He's affectionate in the sweetest ways, including enthusiastically giving face licks to anyone lucky enough to earn them. He loves hanging out with his people, soaking up attention, and simply being part of whatever you're doing. He's playful, goofy, incredibly loving, and seems to wake up every day convinced it's going to be the best one yet. Bobcat is also FIV-positive. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is often misunderstood, but it simply means his immune system may not be as strong as that of other cats. With regular veterinary care, a healthy indoor lifestyle, and good nutrition, FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, normal lives. FIV is spread primarily through deep bite wounds—not through sharing food bowls, litter boxes, grooming, or cuddling—so many FIV-positive cats live peacefully with other friendly cats. Speaking of other cats, Bobcat is wonderfully easygoing. He'll politely say hello, then happily go about his business. We think he'd do well with another laid-back feline friend. We haven't had the chance to test him with dogs, but based on his relaxed personality, we think he'd likely do well with a proper, slow introduction. Bobcat's story could have been one of heartbreak. Instead, it's become one of resilience, forgiveness, and joy. He doesn't dwell on what happened to him—he's too busy asking for pets, making new friends, and reminding everyone that life is meant to be enjoyed. Come meet Bobcat. We have a feeling he'll walk—adorably and uniquely—right into your heart.
