Meet our sweet Callie: A Mama Who Deserves to Be Someone's Baby
Callie's story began the way too many do. She was a scared, pregnant stray, trying to survive while carrying the babies depending on her. Thankfully, she was rescued and welcomed into a loving foster home just in time.
In foster care, Callie blossomed into an incredible mother. She gave birth to four beautiful, female kittens and devoted herself completely to raising them. She kept them clean, safe, and loved, watching over them every step of the way until they were ready to begin their own happily-ever-afters.
Now it's Callie's turn.
With her babies grown, this sweet mama is looking for a forever home where she can finally relax and enjoy being cared for herself. Callie has spent so much of her life looking after others—she deserves a family that will shower her with the love she's always given.
Callie is happiest as the only cat in the home. While she has been a wonderful, patient mom to her kittens, she doesn't enjoy sharing her space with other adult cats. She would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and build a special bond with her people.
If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and an inspiring story of resilience, Callie may be the perfect match. She survived life as a stray, raised her babies with unwavering love, and is now ready for the happy ending she's earned.
The adoption fee for Callie is $100. All cats and kittens are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, vaccinated with FVRCP vaccinations and rabies if 4 months or older, dewormed, given vet-approved flea prevention, spayed/neutered if older than 4-5 months and microchipped. Callie has been spayed.
We strive to do all that we can to make sure that we are adopting a healthy and happy kitty into a new home. In addition, all of our cats and kittens are fostered in either a private home or office setting so that volunteers can socialize the kitties, develop good litter box habits and get to know their personalities to make as best a match as possible with an adoptive home!
Cat Adoption Guidelines:
You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. Send your application in directly at www.ForThePets.org. You can email us with any questions at
[email protected].
This is not a first come process; we try to match the cat or kitten with a home that will be a Forever Home. We are a small group of volunteers that have full-time jobs outside of our volunteer time for the humane society. The time to process an application can vary depending on the availability of the Cat Adoption Team, the information provided on the application (whether it is completely filled out) and the number of applicants for that pet. We try to process them as quickly as possible.
All of our cats are indoor cats only unless otherwise specified. We also do not allow declawing of the cat.
We do not fly or ship our cats due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the cat back in the cabin (size restrictions) with you, that would be considered.
We do adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport. If you apply to adopt a cat and are chosen, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the cat and fill out the paperwork in person.
We can't provide individual meet and greet sessions for each applicant. If chosen to adopt, you will have plenty of time for your family and pets to visit with the potential new family member before signing any paperwork and will not be committed to adopt if you choose not to at that time.
