**$280 in pledges for the rescue that pulls** Nougat ACCT-A-250627 Nougat came to ACCT Philly on May 19th after her owner was evicted and facing homelessness. Nougat lived in the same home for five years and was described as very sweet, docile, and shy. Despite the upheaval of losing his home, Nougat has been settling in quietly at the shelter. He spent the past week in an office resting or tucking away near his sister - but he's already showing signs of warming up, recently approaching a staff member on his own and accepting gentle pets. He'll do best in a quiet, stable home where he's given time to come out of his shell at his own pace. Yesterday he actually walked towards me and allowed a brief pet on his head. He's definitely a shy boy who needs to be given a little time to settle in. Per staff 5/21: Went to meet Nougat, he was hiding in a cat tree in the office he is staying in. He allowed pets under his chin and on his head. I gave him a few scratches on his hind and his "elevator" worked a little. Per surrender notes 5/19: Very nice & sweet, no hissing, very docile, shy. Low energy. Fully litter trained. Lived with two other cats. Shy but sweet with strangers. Reaction to children and dogs unknown. Ideal home described as a nice, stable, calm, loving home with stability. MEDICAL NOTES: Nougat has a medical waiver for two noted conditions. He has gingival swelling around one of his upper teeth, which will likely require a dental extraction. He is also noted to be morbidly obese and may benefit from a weight management plan through a veterinarian. Placement should be prepared for a dental and ongoing weight management.
