My Story

Pita Chaos Coordinator and Kitchen Supervisor Quick Facts: Age: 5 months old Gender: Male Breed: Domestic Shorthair Color: Gray/Brown Tiger Vaccinations: Up to date Neutered/Spayed: Yes FeLV & FIV: Negative Microchipped: Yes Litter Trained: Yes Good With: Cats, dogs, respectful children, and babies Pita is a 5-month-old tiger kitten with two primary goals in life: being involved in absolutely everything and making sure no food appears anywhere in the house without his knowledge. Found his way into foster care alongside his brother, Falafel, Pita has fully embraced the indoor lifestyle and all the opportunities it provides for adventure, supervision, and occasional mischief. This boy is full of personality. He loves to play, explore, climb, investigate, and generally make himself part of whatever is happening around him. Laundry? Pita can help. Cooking dinner? Pita would like to observe. Cleaning the house? Pita has opinions. In fact, one of the brothers once managed to turn on a stovetop while "helping." We cannot definitively prove it was Pita, but we also cannot rule it out. When he's not busy supervising household operations, Pita can often be found napping on the kitchen counter, strategically positioned to ensure no snacks are prepared without proper feline oversight. Despite his talent for chaos, Pita is also incredibly affectionate. He loves attention, enjoys snuggling, and is happy to curl up with his humans after a long day of kitten business. Pita is wonderful with children, has done great with a baby, and gets along well with the family's German Shepherd. Nothing seems to faze him, and he approaches life with confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm. Please note: We cannot guarantee which brother is responsible for any particular act of kitten mischief, as even their foster family still struggles to tell them apart. If You're Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know I believe every household task can be improved by adding a kitten. I am available to supervise cooking, cleaning, paperwork, television watching, and snack preparation. I also enjoy cuddling, playing, and making sure you never feel lonely. If you're looking for a kitten who will keep life entertaining, I'm your guy. Important Adoption Information and Next Steps: All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are: * Spayed or neutered * Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations * Microchipped prior to adoption * Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate) * Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes they are not housed in a shelter environment * We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter * Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County To apply to adopt, please visit [www.oswegocountyspca.org](http://www.oswegocountyspca.org) and complete our adoption application. After Submitting Your Application: Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed. For Pets Already in the Home: Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone both new and existing family members stays healthy and safe. Keep in Mind: We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
