My Story

Got some love to spare? Womp Womp and her siblings came to Dakin when a good neighbor cared for their free-roaming momma and her babies, then brought them to Dakin. She is a bit shy but her brothers and mom are teaching her to be more confident. Her foster says spending mealtimes with her and making sure to give her extra love has definitely helped her come around. Ready to Adopt a Kitten? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You'll be able to meet available kittens in the shelter. (Kittens in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT SIGHT UNSEEN If you're ready to adopt without meeting the kitten first, we can help over the phone or by email. (413) 781-4000 x 1 [email protected]. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. Kittens are adopted on a first come, first served basis, and we're not able to place holds on them. All kitten adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccination (if over 12 weeks of age) -current on distemper vaccines (will need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
