And while her appearance may draw people in, it's her sweet, sensitive heart and joyful spirit that make them fall in love.
Aja is looking for a calm, loving forever home after experiencing a lot of change recently. Her previous owner, who adored her for almost her entire almost five years of life, made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her due to an international move. Now, Aja is ready to put down roots with a family of her own and finally enjoy the stability, comfort, and love she deserves.
Don't let her age fool you, Aja's primary love language is still playtime. Whether it's a game of fetch, chasing a ball around the yard, proudly carrying a stuffie (preferably that squeaks), or investigating a new chew toy, Aja approaches life with enthusiasm. She loves getting her steps and sniffs in on walks, and is always almost up for an adventure.
Aja is also incredibly smart. She already knows commands like "sit" and "touch," is house-trained, crate trained, and also does very well when left free-roaming. She's a wonderful mix of spunky and snuggly-equally happy joining you on a more low-key outing, or curling up nearby for a very well-earned nap.
Right now, Aja is living in foster care in a busy city neighborhood, but she dreams of something a little quieter where she can feel truly at peace. An environment with less hustle and bustle, a yard for zoomies, sunbathing, and her beloved ball chasing, and people who understand that sensitive souls sometimes need a little extra patience would be her ideal match.
Aja absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine sibling who can keep up with her energy. She has also lived successfully with cats and currently shares her home with them in foster care. In fact, one of Aja's greatest wishes may be convincing a cat to play with her. While her efforts are often met with polite (or not-so-polite) feline indifference, she remains eternally optimistic. So home with playful, confident cats who enjoy interaction and plenty of shenanigans would also be a wonderful fit for her.
At the end of the day, Aja is looking for what we all are: a place where she feels safe, understood, and loved. In return, she'll provide very loyal companionship, entertainment, endless ball retrieval services, and so much more.
