My Story

Hi, my name is Ava! I'm a GREEN pawprint, which means I will fit well into most homes. Here is what would work best for me in my new home: -Personality: Affectionate, Silly -Can Live with Kids: Unknown history - likely ok with dog savvy kids of most ages! All intros done at WHS. -Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - slow and supervised introductions always recommended. -Can Live with Dogs: Yes - would likely do well living with another dog after an initial intro at WHS to ensure everyone gets along! -Can do Apartment Living: Not ideally due to size - may be considered in larger apartments/condos if someone will be around more often than not! -Potty Trained: Appears to be! -Bite History: No -Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No -Energy Level: Medium -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No, Good to go. Ava is a beautiful large-breed girl who came to the shelter as a stray alongside two other dogs. While she's still adjusting to shelter life, one thing is clear, Ava absolutely craves human connection. She loves being close to her people and would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not to help her feel secure and loved. Ava can be a little nervous when meeting new dogs here at the shelter, which isn't uncommon given all the changes she's experienced. We believe she could do well with another dog in the home, provided they are respectful of her space and willing to give her time to build confidence and trust at her own pace. Like any dog, Ava is looking for a family that understands the lifelong commitment of pet ownership. She deserves a home that will provide proper veterinary care, regular grooming, quality nutrition, mental enrichment, physical exercise, and, of course, plenty of love and affection.
