Beauregard

Beauregard, who goes by Beau, came to us after his owner passed away. His life was a little up in the air for several days after his owner's death as he became part of an estate left to a church. For two weeks he lived in a kennel and there was talk of euthanizing him if an home could not be found. When someone stepped up, Beau was so stressed and anxious that he acted out being very snappy. Within only a few days, he has become a sweet, calm and loving boy. He is playful, crate trained, rides well in a car, and walks on leash, although he does pull on his leash as most terriers do, because he's got places that must be sniffed! Beau has just entered our program and we are going to have him vetted next week. After his vetting, he will be available for adoption. We believe he is a Jack Russell terrier and an Australian cattle dog mix. Regarding his house manners, we learned he was 100% outside in his former home. Due to questionable potty habits, he has been staying outside at his caregivers home as well. Therefore, we are not exactly sure where he is on house training but we find that most times outside dogs come to us house trained or close. They have never gone inside and want to be out to do business. We will know more as we move forward. We do know that Beau does not care for cats, but we have not tested him with children or other dogs at this point. He gets along well with women and men. We are going to dog test him this week.
