My Story

Meet Bindi

Let's get one thing out of the way

Yes, Bindi is a hospice dog.

She has advanced heart disease from years of untreated heartworms and is also living with Chagas disease. We don't know if she has months or years ahead of her. The truth is, no one does.

But we refuse to believe that should stop her from having a family.

We believe hospice dogs deserve more than being loved from a distance.
They deserve to be someone's reason to go on an evening walk.
They deserve spontaneous car rides, cheeseburger runs, lazy Sunday mornings, and all the little moments that make up a life.

That's exactly the kind of life Bindi is hoping to find.

The minute she sees her leash, she's ready to go. Evening walks are her favorite, and she's happiest leading the way around the neighborhood like she's been in charge all along

She's also a big fan of car rides. She hasn't quite figured out how to car surf yet, but don't worry she already has her own booster seat and takes her job as passenger princess very seriously!

Bindi doesn't wake up thinking about her diagnosis

She wakes up excited to see where the day takes her.

And that's exactly why we place hospice dogs.

Not because we know how much time they have
Because we know they deserve to spend whatever time they do have as someone's beloved dog instead of waiting in rescue.

Hospice adoption isn't about saying goodbye.

It's about finally getting to say, "You're home."

If your heart has room for a dog who will remind you to appreciate the little things every single day, please apply to adopt sweet Bindi.
