My Story
Bucatini is a 5-year-old, 60 lbs. shepherd mix with a story of quiet resilience and a heart that's just beginning to shine. Found as a stray and brought to safety thanks to Goodboy Recovery, Bucatini arrived understandably shut down, unsure, and carrying the weight of whatever he'd been through before.
But here's the beautiful thing about dogs like Bucatini: with patience, structure, and kindness, they blossom.
In just few short weeks, Bucatini has already started that transformation. Through gentle guidance, confidence-building exercises, and puzzle work with his volunteer trainer, he's discovering that the world isn't so scary after all. He's learning to decompress, to engage, and most importantly to trust. Now, Bucatini makes eye contact, responds to cues, and is starting to feel safe in his own skin.
When meeting new people, Bucatini may still take a moment but he's learning to trust the process, and each positive interaction helps him take another step forward. He's a good boy with so much potential, just waiting for someone to give him the time and understanding he deserves.
Bucatini is looking for a patient, loving home that will meet him where he is and continue supporting his journey. With the right person by his side, there's no doubt he'll keep blossoming into the confident, loyal companion he's meant to be.

He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. He also had a mass removed from his hip - the biopsy showed it was just an older man bump and non-cancerous.
