My Story

Personality: I'm a fun-loving, energetic girl who absolutely adores being around people. Education: fully potty and crate trained! Favorite Activities: playtime, cuddles and naps! Looking For: I'd thrive in an active home that can give me lots of affection, playtime, and companionship. I'd love a home with other dogs, but I'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only pup. Special Needs/Concerns: I'm a tripawd, but that doesn't slow me down one bit! Bio: Hi there! My name is Calla Lily, and I'm a one-year-old Whippet/Mixed Breed girl weighing about 25 pounds. I may only have three legs, but that doesn't slow me down one bit! Before being rescued, I was found wandering the streets of Mexico with a serious injury to my hind leg. After surgery and lots of love, my leg was amputated, and now I'm thriving as a happy tripod pup! The only thing I really need help with is getting into the car - otherwise, I'm always ready for life's next adventure. I'm a fun-loving, energetic girl who absolutely adores being around people. I love following my humans from room to room, soaking up attention, and snuggling whenever I get the chance. When I'm feeling playful, you'll usually find me tossing around my stuffies, chasing tennis balls, or happily chewing on treats. I still have some goofy puppy habits and may occasionally chew on things I shouldn't, like blankets, shoes, or bags, but I'm learning more every day! Sometimes when I get extra excited, I can get a little mouthy in a playful way, but I'm continuing to work on that, too. When playtime is over, I'm all about cuddles and naps. I'm a very affectionate girl who loves giving nose kisses and asking for attention from my favorite humans. Some of my favorite things include chewing on stuffies, going on walks, chasing tennis balls, licking yogurt tubs, and lounging on the couch beside you. Car rides aren't exactly my favorite at first, but once I settle in, I relax just fine. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playful pup sibling who can match my energy. I'm friendly with dogs of all sizes and just want everyone to join in the fun! I'm also curious about cats and could do well with one who doesn't mind me being a little nosy, as long as introductions are slow and supervised. I do well with kids, too, though I'd probably be best with older children since I can still be a little mouthy when excited. I'm already fully potty trained and crate trained! I may whine for a few minutes in my crate, but I settle down quickly afterward. I walk pretty nicely on leash, though I can pull a little and occasionally bark at people passing by before warming up to them. I also have a touch of separation anxiety because I really love being with my humans, but I can comfortably stay in my crate for about 6-7 hours if needed. More than anything, I'm just a happy, grateful girl with a constantly wagging tail. Even after everything I've been through, I wake up every day excited to love life. I'd thrive in an active home that can give me lots of affection, playtime, and companionship. I'd love a home with other dogs, but I'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only pup.
