My Story
The MexiMutt Project is an initiative of Born Again Pit Bull Rescue. Millions of dogs live on the streets in Mexico, and our rescue works at the source through spay/neuter programs, rescue, medical care, and adoption into loving homes.
- Since 2019, we have matched over 500 dogs with loving homes & spayed/neutered over 3,500 dogs in Mexico.
- All of our dogs are currently in foster care in Guadalajara, Mexico. They are listed in Oregon for adoption purposes because our rescue is based there.
- Once an adoption is approved, the dog will fly to Portland, Oregon (PDX). Most dogs arrive within 2-4 weeks after approval, depending on flight availability.

Meet CHLOE
- AGE: 5 months old (estimated)
- WEIGHT: 18 lbs
- GOOD WITH KIDS who know to respect a dog's space and belongings.
- HOUSEBROKEN? Not 100% yet. As rescues that lived outdoors, they'll need some time to adjust. Most adapt within 1-2 weeks of consistent training.
- The breed listed is our best guess (since they're rescues!)
A busy corner behind a convenient store is no place for a two-month-old puppy - half a block from the main road, exposed, with no one looking out for her. That's where foster Patty found Chloe and her sister Molly, abandoned by whoever had them before. Chloe was frightened. A group of schoolgirls nearby helped Patty get both puppies safely into the car.
Two months later, Chloe's latest trick is jumping up onto the backyard hammock. She sticks the landing.
"Chloe is always a very happy puppy and is a silly girl sometimes, too," says Patty.
The hammock is just the beginning. Chloe loves rolling onto her back for belly rubs the moment you sit near her, plays a very serious game of ball (she has already mastered 'bring it' and 'give'), and has a signature move when it's time to come inside - she simply ignores you. She hears the call, weighs her options, and decides there's still more to investigate outside.
She's working on 'come' - and she's currently enrolled in a local Board and Train program with her sister to get daily training and group play, so she will get there sooner than you'd think.
Chloe is healthy and fully vaccinated, tested negative for Parvo, Distemper, and Coronavirus. She plays well with other dogs and is tolerant of cats. She's almost fully potty trained and handles time alone reasonably well for a puppy.
She is looking for an active home with room to run - ideally with a yard and a dog companion she can chase, wrestle, and play tag with. Chloe is the kind of puppy who keeps life interesting without ever meaning to be anything but herself.
What kind of adventures could you two get into together?
