Meet Dipp! Breed: Hound Mix Age: 3 years Health: Neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for his next adventure! Location: Looking for a foster or trial home. Expected to arrive in the Pacific Northwest in mid-July. Dipp's story almost ended before it had the chance to begin. He found himself on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter in New Mexico—not because of anything he had done, but simply because there wasn't enough space. Thankfully, he was given a second chance, and now he's searching for the loving family he has always deserved. Dipp is a handsome, intelligent hound mix with a gentle heart and so much potential. He's looking for a foster or trial family to help him take the next step toward his forever home. Dipp gets along wonderfully with other friendly, playful dogs and loves a good game of chase in the yard. He's currently living with several dogs and has become best buddies with one of them, happily running and playing until they're both worn out. While one older, grumpy dog in the home isn't a fan, Dipp has shown that he does well with dogs who are welcoming and enjoys having a canine companion. Although he's still gaining confidence, Dipp is making incredible progress every day. Fast movements can startle him at first, but he recovers quickly and is learning that people are kind. He's becoming more comfortable on walks, walks nicely on leash, and is growing more confident with every outing. This smart boy has already taught himself how to use a doggy door, stays within fenced areas even when off leash, and comes when called. He doesn't try to escape or dash out open doors, making him an easy companion to have around the house. He even enjoys curling up in bed with his people at night! Dipp is still working on marking indoors, which is improving with consistency and routine. With patience and positive reinforcement, he's sure to continue making great strides.
