My Story

Duke Caboom has the kind of face that makes strangers stop in their tracks. Between his floppy, cartoonishly oversized ears and forever-puppy expression, this 8-month-old mixed breed weighing around 15 pounds is impossible not to notice. Thankfully, his personality is every bit as lovable as his looks. Duke is an incredibly sweet, gentle, and playful pup who has taken city life in stride. From the bustle of New York City to passing dogs on walks, he's handled new experiences with impressive confidence and a calm demeanor. He's also a smart cookie. In just a couple of days in foster care, he learned to sit and has responded wonderfully to positive reinforcement and gentle redirection. Like any puppy, Duke is still learning. He's making great progress with potty training thanks to a consistent routine, and while he's not fully crate-trained yet, he's already choosing to eat his meals there, settling in for naps, and happily sleeping through the night. When he's not learning something new, you'll usually find him carrying around a squeaky toy or happily working on a frozen yogurt-filled Kong. Most of all, Duke loves being with his people. He's affectionate, easygoing, and always up for a cuddle after a day of exploring. For a family looking for a fun, loving companion to grow alongside, Duke is ready to make himself right at home.
