Faris

Faris is a sweetheart who has surprised everyone with how much he enjoys being around people, despite his difficult start in life. He greets his humans with a happy tail wag and is always excited to see familiar faces. Like many former research dogs, he can occasionally be a little hesitant, but his confidence grows more every day. This affectionate boy loves gentle pets, kind words, and curling up next to his people on the couch. He is very food-motivated and happily takes treats from your hand, which will be a great asset as he continues learning about life as a beloved family dog. Faris also loves to play. He enjoys running around with his canine foster siblings and has a particular talent for swooping in to borrow whatever toy another dog is playing with, turning it into a fun game of chase. His potty training is progressing nicely. He does all of his business outdoors and has been doing very well with his routine. He currently wears a washable belly band indoors as an extra precaution while he continues to adjust. Faris is still learning about leash walking and will need a patient family willing to help him build confidence in this area. He is comfortable going outside in a fenced-in yard, but is sometimes reluctant to come back inside without a little encouragement. One thing Faris knows for sure is that he loves being close to his people. He is not a fan of being kenneled and would much rather spend his time curled up on the couch or sharing a bed with his humans. He may vocalize his opinion about being confined, especially since he has grown accustomed to being an office companion while one of his foster moms works from home. Faris is truly a honey of a dog - gentle, loving, and full of potential. He is ready to find a patient, understanding family that will continue showing him how wonderful life can be. Whoever welcomes Faris into their home will be gaining a loyal companion and a very special friend.
