My Story

Ghost didn't end up in rescue because he was a "bad dog." Truth is-none of our dogs do. They end up here because somewhere along the way, the humans failed them. Ghost's story started with being left outside... alone... far too often. He barked because he was trying to be heard. And instead of being understood, he was surrendered. Now, Ghost has a second chance-and he's making the most of it. After coming into rescue, we discovered he had a torn ACL. He's since had surgery and is healing beautifully, showing us just how resilient he truly is. But Ghost isn't just a story-he's a personality. He's smart. Assertive. A little bit of a "fun police" kind of guy who prefers calm over chaos. He's the type of dog who wants to understand the rules-and once he does, he follows them. He's not working for treats... but hand him a squeaky toy when he's happy and settled? He'll put on a concert for you. He bonds deeply-really deeply. Ghost is the definition of a shadow dog. He'll follow you from room to room, claim his spot on the couch, and if you let him, sleep at your feet all night long. Ghost is not a fan of being left alone so a living situation without shared walls ( apartment or condo) would be best for him . He can live happily as your one-and-only or with a calm, easygoing dog. He just needs someone who will give him structure, patience, and consistency.
