My Story

Let me introduce you to Gino, the most adorable, eager to learn puppy! When Gino arrived, he was scared and unsure of everything around him. After just two days of being here he is like a different puppy! Gino has learned so much in the short time he has been here. He has learned what toys are and that they are fun to play with. He is no longer hesitant to walk in the grass. In fact, he loves being outside. He will go out there and just plop down in the lawn and looks so happy. He loves napping in the dog bed and even dragged his towel to the bed to have with him. Gino is in a home with a couple of other dogs and cats, and after those first two days, he started initiating playing time with the dogs. He has attached himself to one of them and follows her around everywhere. He is curious about the cats but not enough to get too close. Having another dog to learn from and play with in his new home would be wonderful for Gino. Gino is doing well on potty training. He has not learned to tell you when he needs to go out yet but there are signs if you pay attention. If you see him sniffing in a corner, then it is time to go out. I just say, “uh uh, let's go out” and he will follow you out. It may take him a few minutes to get the business done but be patient. Gino sleeps in a kennel and has slept all night since he has been here. He will wine a bit when he first goes in but if you tell him to hush he will. He does not like going in a kennel or a crate. You will have to pick him up and put him in. Please reassure him that he is ok once he is in there. He has a blanket; a couple toys and a pillow in the kennel here. He absolutely loves the affection of people. As soon as you look at him his tail starts wagging and he is hoping for belly rubs, or pets anywhere for that matter! Gino will be your shadow, maybe even like Velcro for the first couple days. If there is another dog for him to learn from then he will start to hang out with his new brother/sister more and not be a shadow as much to you. He is an affectionate puppy and deserves so much love! Gino will thrive in a patient and loving home.
