Koda is the kind of dog who believes that if you're sitting down, there is probably room for him too. Bed? Room for Koda. Couch? Room for Koda. Family movie night? Definitely room for Koda. This affectionate, happy-hearted boy is equal parts adventure buddy and oversized cuddle bug, always ready for a park day, a car ride, or an evening spent snuggled right in the middle of the people he loves most.
Estimated to be around 1 year and 2 months old, weighing approximately 53 pounds, and looking very much like a Pittie mix, Koda is a rescue, so breed and age are simply our best guess. What we know for certain is that he is a loving, people-oriented dog with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and absolutely no concept of personal space when cuddles are available.

Koda is currently thriving in a loving foster home where he has earned rave reviews for being a wonderful house dog. He is house trained, crate trained and comfortably spends the workday relaxing quietly in his crate. He has proven he can live successfully in an apartment setting, though his foster believes he would absolutely love a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs, zoom around, and enjoy more outdoor adventures.
His foster describes him as incredibly affectionate, and honestly, that may be the theme of Koda's entire life. He loves giving kisses, loves being close to his people, and loves making sure nobody feels left out of cuddle time. At bedtime, his favorite move is squeezing himself directly into the middle of the family so everyone can participate in the snuggle session. Once he settles in beside his people, he's content to stay there all night long.
Koda is also a big fan of fun. Trips to the park? Excellent. Car rides? Even better. Toys? Absolutely. Balls, plush toys, chew toys, if it can be tossed, chased, carried, or enjoyed, Koda is interested. His foster shares that he especially enjoys running around outdoors and turning everyday outings into little adventures.
When meeting people, Koda is friendly and excited. New friends are greeted with a wagging tail and genuine enthusiasm. He also lives with children and has been described as affectionate and gentle with them. Much like with the adults in the home, if the kids are nearby, Koda would very much prefer to be included in the cuddle pile.
Koda's ideal family will appreciate his enthusiasm for life and continue helping him polish a few of his manners given he is still growing out of the puppy days. He is continuing to practice his leash skills, he has the basics down and is working on his excitement while out and about. Simply, he gets excited about all the fun to be had and can pull a bit. Because of this, continued guidance and training will help him become the best version of himself.
Koda currently lives with cats and another dog and his foster shared that because of the size of both the dog and the kittens, he does best with supervision as he can be very curious and playful. During his afternoon with us outside of his foster home he met our house cat and was both polite and playful with him. Offering a gentle patience when the cat was play biting him and being very rough. Because of his playful interest in the cat we feel he would do best with confident, dog-savvy feline friend rather than kittens. With dogs, he tends to be playful and excited, so we believe he would be happiest with a tolerant, playful dog who won't mind reminding him about personal space from time to time.
What stands out most about Koda is not his energy, his toys, or even his love of adventures. It's how deeply he loves his people. This is a dog who wants to be part of the family. He wants to ride shotgun, join the cuddle pile, share your daily routine, and be included in all the little moments that make a house feel like home.
If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with a playful spirit, a loving heart, and enough affection to fill an entire room, Koda is exactly the boy you've been waiting for.
