My Story

Personality: He is a sweetheart and so friendly! Energetic guy who loves to chill once he has exercised. Education: Good with bathroom and working on leash training. Not a crate lover, but can be lured in and settles there. Favorite Activities: Playing with his foster sister, loves to play with toys and bring them to people to show them off, LOVES belly rubs, cuddling, and getting pets. Running around the backyard, and going on walks. Loves to chase balls Looking For: Lando would do best in a home with another playful dog, without young children and/or only with adults or teenage children who can be cognizant of his resource-guarding human food, with an active owner who will let him play, run, and walk, and where he will have company and not be left alone for the majority of the day. Special Needs/Concerns: He needs a foster who can work with him to continue training and to set him up for success to manage his human food resource guarding. He will do best in a home without young children and where the kitchen can be off-limits. Bio: Hi friends! My name is Lando and I am a 1.5 year old, male neutered Shepherd mix, weighing around 48 lbs. I was surrendered to a high-kill shelter by my owner who gave up on caring for me. TAP rescued me on the day I was scheduled to be killed, and I am here waiting for my pawfect home. I am fully bathroom trained, do really well putting on a harness, but could practice loose leash walking more. I don't love the crate and need to be bribed in with treats, but once in, I will relax. My foster mama says I am the sweetest ball of energy! I am all heart and I really am thankful and grateful for my saved life. I love my people, and get quite playful with other dogs. I enjoy affection and chilling around my family once I have my energies out. I have lived with older children/young teens and have been great with them as long as food is not involved. I am active, energetic and playtime is the best! I make a wonderful running/workout buddy and a playmate for doggos. I rarely bark! I get a bit anxious when left alone at home, but it can be managed. I have successfully completed a board and train to help with resource guarding human food and gain proper training skills. I have been not fun around food and I do realize that I need to control that. I would love a foster or foster to adopt family who can continue my training, with the kitchen being off-limits and an adults-only home or with teenagers. I am just a sweet boy who got a rough start. I will keep my adopter laughing with my goofy antics. I would do best in a home with another playful dog, without young children and/or with adults or teenage children who can be cognizant of my resource-guarding human food, with an active owner who will let me play, run, and walk. I would prefer company through the day and not be left alone for too long while I work on separation anxiety. No cats please! My adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
