***AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER/FOSTER TO ADOPT AFTER 4/1 ***HAS BEGUN HEARTWORM TREATMENT AND IS BEING TREATED FOR EHRLICHIA Meet Layken, a sweet but shy 6-year-old Foxhound mix from a tough start who's now ready for a brighter chapter filled with love, belly rubs and LOVE. This pretty girl was surrendered along with other dogs when their previous situation couldn’t meet their needs, and when Layken arrived, she was underweight and pretty filthy. But with a little TLC, some regular meals, and a whole lot of kindness, she is already starting to put on the weight she needs. Layken is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, so she will need a patient and understanding family who can give her a slow and easy routine for the next few months. But don't worry, she's already started treatment and is on her way to a full recovery! Despite her tough start in life, Layken is an energetic and playful girl who loves to explore and play. While she may be a bit shy in new situations, she is a social butterfly and loves the company of other dogs. In fact, she would thrive in a home with a companion animal to keep her company. With her adorable appearance and friendly, intelligent personality, Layken is sure to steal your heart. She may need some guidance with housetraining, but with patience and love, she will quickly catch on. Layken is a true gem who deserves a loving family who will show her the love and attention she has been missing. Layken has been spayed, microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. Se has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention.
