Meet Maia Maia is a 4-year-old, 18lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with the sweetest soul and the gentlest heart. Life has been a little overwhelming for this beautiful girl, and she is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Maia is extremely timid and skittish, and because of this she is considered a flight risk. She will need a patient, understanding adopter who is committed to helping her build confidence at her own pace. A secure physical fence is a must for her safety. One of Maia's greatest comforts is other animals. She gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats, and she would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly dog who can show her the ropes and help her learn how to simply be a dog. While Maia may not be the type of dog who immediately runs up for attention, the people who understand shy dogs know that earning their trust is incredibly rewarding. She is looking for a calm home filled with patience, kindness, and realistic expectations as she continues her journey. If you have a quiet home, a securely fenced yard, and a confident canine companion who can help guide her, Maia may be the perfect addition to your family. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
