My Story

Hi, my name is Moose Tracks! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into most homes . Here is what would work best for me in my new home: -Personality: Energetic, playful, vocal, still learning! -Can Live with Kids: Yes, should be fine with respectful, dog-savvy kids of most ages. Everyone will need to meet at the shelter first to ensure they're a good match! -Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - will need proper introductions to ensure everyone gets along. May be overwhelming for shy or senior kitties who prefer being left alone. -Can Live with Dogs: Yes, pending an initial introduction done here at the shelter -Can do Apartment Living: Could live in an apartment with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, although a home with a yard would be much preferred! Be sure to think long-term about your living arrangements and check with property management for any breed restrictions. -Potty Trained: Working on it! -Bite History: No -Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, a 6 week puppy course. -Energy Level: High! -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a neuter and microchip -Additional Information: Moose Tracks is a handsome chocolate lab mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! This happy-go-lucky youngster is full of energy, curiosity, and puppy enthusiasm. Moose came to the shelter as a stray, so we don't know much about his past. What we do know is that he's a sweet, energetic puppy with lots of potential and a bright future ahead of him. Like any young puppy, Moose is still learning the ropes. He's currently working on potty training and basic commands, and he'll need a family committed to continuing his education. To help set everyone up for success, Moose's adoption will require enrollment in a 6-week positive reinforcement puppy training course. This will give Moose and his new family the tools they need to build a strong bond and start off on the right paw. If you're looking for a fun-loving puppy to join you on life's adventures and are ready for all the joys (and responsibilities!) that come with raising a young dog, Moose may be the perfect addition to your family. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
