My Story

My name is Hopper. I only have three legs, but I promise you that's not the reason I'm a little slow to come over and say hello. It's my heart. Not because there's anything wrong with it... But because it's been hurt before. **I am a 2.5 Years Old Yellow Labrador Retriever/ Anatolian Shepherd mix, spayed, house trained Fully vaccinated, microchipped, dog friendly, loves car rides, toy & treat ,motivated. Best with another friendly fog, am fostered in Toronto and waiting for my forever home** I live with my foster family in Toronto but I can travel to other provinces and even BC or Washington or Oregon if there is a potential adopter for me. My adoption fee is $600 CDN. Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/6ebo8t6LrgMJW2mU6 (Please copy & paste if the link is not clickable.) Here is my story: I don't remember every detail of my old life, and maybe that's for the best. I just know that somewhere along the way, I learned to be afraid. Loud noises, new places, strangers... they can make the world feel very big for a little dog like me. So when I meet someone new, I don't run into their arms. I might watch from a distance. I might quietly hide behind another dog. I might need a little time. Please don't take it personally. I'm not saying "no." I'm just asking, "Can you be patient with me?" Because if you can... If you let me figure things out at my own pace... You'll discover that underneath all that worry is the sweetest little love bug you've ever met. Once I know you're safe, I won't want to leave your side. I'll follow you from room to room. I'll curl up beside you while you read or watch TV. I'll lean against you for comfort and quietly ask for belly rubs. I don't need to be the center of attention. I just want to be close to the people I love. And I really, really love other dogs. Honestly, they've helped teach me that the world isn't so scary after all. Big dogs, little dogsI don't care. I just want a friend to run with, wrestle with, and show me that everything is okay. Watching a confident dog enjoy life helps me be brave too. That's why I dream about a forever home with a friendly canine brother or sister waiting for me. Someone to show me where the toy basket is. Someone to run around the backyard with. Someone to remind me that I'm safe. People often look at me and notice that I only have three legs. But I don't think about it much. I can still run. I can still play. I can still go for walks and explore the outdoors. I love car rides because they usually mean an adventure is waiting for me. And if you happen to bring treats or toys along... well, you've already won a big piece of my heart. I've been waiting for my forever family for over a year now. . That's a long time to wonder if you're ever going to belong somewhere. A long time to watch other dogs find homes while you keep hoping your turn will come. But I haven't given up. I still believe there's someone out there who understands that some of the very best things in life take a little time. Someone who won't mind that I need a gentle introduction. Someone who knows that trust isn't something you demandit's something you earn. And when you earn mine, I promise I'll give you something very special in return. My whole heart. Maybe I only have three legs... But I have enough love for a lifetime. And I've been saving it for the family who's willing to wait for me. Love, **Hopper ** *"The dogs who take the longest to trust are often the ones who have the most love to give. Hopper isn't looking for a perfect family she's looking for a patient one."*
