My Story

Meet Neko! This handsome boy was surrendered to the shelter on 6/27 after his former family realized they weren't prepared for a dog of his size and strength. Neko is a big, powerful dog who will thrive with a confident, kind adopter willing to continue working on his leash manners. He already knows how to sit and lie down on cue, and his previous family reported that he is house-trained, crate-trained, and good with children. If you're looking for a loyal companion and have room in your heart (and your home!) for a gentle giant, Neko could be the perfect match. Neko is approximately 4.5 years old, and weighs 145 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and has been microchipped. Neko will be neutered upon adoption. Unfortunately, Neko did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Nelo is waiting patiently in kennel 23; his ID # is 20377. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
