Meet Owen! Owen is a sweet 4-year-old Bichon Frise who weighs 11.9 lbs. He may be a little shy at first, but with patience and the right people, Owen's true personality shines through. He loves playing with his toys and never says no to a tasty treat. Owen gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with another confident, friendly dog to help show him the ropes and build his confidence. A canine companion will be an important part of Owen's success in his new home. Owen is heartworm positive but has already begun treatment-continued care may be needed after adoption. We require an in-person meet and greet at our shelter to ensure Owen is a perfect fit for his new family. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and loving little friend, Owen just might be the one. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
