My Story

Meet Ozzie! Ozzie is a blue merle Queensland Heeler mix with striking black and white markings. He is an affectionate, 1 year-old boy who weighs 45 lbs. Ozzie is house, crate and leash trained. He knows "sit" and "give paw." He also rides well in a car. This boy is very athletic and intelligent. He responds well to having a schedule and loves to take walks and go on hikes. He has boundless energy and is always ready for an adventure. Yet, he settles well and enjoys his snuggle time with his human. Ozzie would be happiest with a large grassy, fenced yard where he can run and play. When bored he will dig and needs to be redirected with chew toys. He loves chewing on antlers. Ozzie does need more training to improve his behavior in other settings. He gets overly excited when he encounters another dog at a park or on a trail, and plays too rough with dogs at the dog park. He is a quiet boy - only barks when he gets excited around other dogs. Ozzie will jump up on people and has to be told "down." He means no harm, but he could easily knock down small children or older adults. Otherwise, he is good with adults. It is unknown how he is with children. Ozzie is a great dog. He is sure to excel with a new owner that is dedicated to giving him continued training and structure. United Animal Friends offers very affordable training with Ozzie's former trainer. For more training information go to: meetup.com/UnitedAnimalFriends Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard. If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home. HOW TO APPLY: From Petfinder.com The fastest way to get to the adoptable dog page is to copy and then paste this link into your browser: https://unitedanimalfriends.org/adoptable-dogs/ When you are on the UAF website Select "Adoptable Dogs" and pick the dog you are interested in. To apply to adopt, go into the dog's profile, and click the gray "Apply for Adoption" button to get started. You could be a life saver! Help us save more lives by fostering a dog or cat.
