My Story

This adorable little guy was brought to HSOV on June 2, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Sunset Lane (between Colegate Drive/Glendale Road) in Marietta Ohio. That kind lady tried in vain to locate his family before bringing him to our shelter. He was not wearing a collar and a microchip was not detected. This little sweetheart had not yet been given a shelter name when these photos were taken late on the afternoon of June 2nd, so we posted him temporarily as 'Sunset Puppy'. He has since been given the name Pinto. Pinto fka Sunset is a young one-year old healthy male Terrier mix. He has a tan-and-white shorthaired coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with hopeful innocent dark brown eyes, a dusting of white, a black button nose, black shading on his slender muzzle, and extra-large ears which he holds erect when he chooses to do so. Pinto has a friendly disposition but is understandably frightened being in an unfamiliar place with so many barking dogs nearby. Pinto was very nervous when we began to snap quick photos on June 2nd ... But with some soft gentle conversations and quietly sitting near the front of his floor crate, Pinto began to wag his tail ever so slowly and to make eye contact .. And he proudly held his large ears erect. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Pinto will be held for the mandatory three-day stray so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. We hope that he has a loving family who will come to reclaim him. If you recognize this little boy or know who his owner might be, please leave a comment here or contact the HSOV by calling (740) 373-5959).
