Meet Precious! At 6 years old and just 5.5 pounds, Precious is a gorgeous black Pomeranian with a heart that's learning what it means to feel safe. Found as a stray near the Mexico border, it's clear life hasn't always been kind to her. She's cautious about being picked up or handled, but every day she's learning that people can be gentle, patient, and loving. Because of her past, Precious needs a home that will let her build trust at her own pace. It doesn't have to be a "calm home", her foster home has 9 dogs and 2 cats. We'd recommend a home without young children, as she can become frightened if she's rushed. She's not aggressive, she simply needs someone who understands that trust takes time. She's thriving in her foster home! Precious is housebroken, sleeps through the night, and gets along beautifully with every dog and cat she meets. We're in no hurry. We'll happily wait for the perfect family. Precious is an Ambassador Dog, so her adoption fee is slightly higher than our standard fee. Every extra dollar helps provide medical care for other rescue dogs who need a second chance.
