My Story

One cold day in February 2025, Quinn found his way to a kind dog rescuer's house in rural New Mexico and collapsed outside. He was starving, scabby, and limping, but luckily he had picked the perfect home to turn up at. He was fed and loved and nursed back to health and taught the basics of how to be a house dog alongside many foster siblings. Now this happy and loving boy has made his way to Colorado to hopefully start the next chapter of his life with a home of his own! If Quinn were in high school, he probably would have been Prom King. He just has what the youths would call "riz". He loves everyone and it's almost impossible not to love him. He's not always the brightest dog in the pack, but he is the funniest. He makes a lot of very cute grumbly noises while he enjoys belly rubs. So far Quinn has done well hiking and camping (will need a little more training on recall to be fully trustworthy off leash but has done pretty darn well for his first week). He loves the water. He doesn't fully understand that rivers keep moving while you're swimming in them, but hopefully he will catch on soon. He's on the low-moderate side as far as energy level. He's more than happy to spend the day napping but also happy to go for a long walk or hike. Quinn walks very well on a leash, rides well in a car, and is housetrained. He knows "sit" but at least pretends not to know "off" and really loves to cuddle on the bed or couch. He greets people very politely. He hasn't been around kids much but he has been very sweet with them when he has gotten to meet them. He's shown some interest in cats but does not have an overly strong prey drive and would probably do ok with proper introduction. He does well with other dogs but is more human-focused. This sweet goofball would be great for a person or family who wants an easygoing companion during the work week but a dog who can hang for weekend adventures. He would be perfectly happy as the only pet in a household and would be a great first dog, but there are a lot of situations he would do well in! Quinn is around 3 years old and 65-70 lbs (medium sized but dense). He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to meet his next best friend! We're voting him "most likely to get a great home"! He is currently located in Steamboat Springs but can be transported to Eagle, Summit County, or Glenwood!
