My Story

Ringo is a 9-year-old, 20-pound male terrier mix from New York City who is the perfect companion. As Ringo settles into foster care, his personality continues to shine. Once he feels comfortable, he's incredibly loyal, affectionate, and loves being close to his people. He's happiest relaxing by your feet, enjoying a Kong filled with treats, or heading out on one of his favorite activities, a walk! He gets so excited to explore the neighborhood and, while he may occasionally pull at the start, he's generally an easy and enjoyable walking buddy. Ringo is a smart, food-motivated pup who already knows “sit” and enjoys learning. He is both house-trained outside and pee pad trained, making him an easy addition to a home. Because Ringo spent most of his life with one family, he likes a little time to get to know new people. He may be reserved at first, but patience, tasty treats, and a calm approach quickly help earn his trust. Once you've made it into his inner circle, you'll have a devoted best friend who loves to cuddle and be near you. His foster has created a gated area with his crate inside, and Ringo has become comfortable using it as his own cozy retreat. He often chooses to nap there during the day while spending his nights resting outside the crate. One of Ringo's sweetest quirks is carrying around his oversized flower pillow, which is almost as big as he is. It's impossible not to smile watching him proudly parade it around the house. Ringo is looking for a calm, loving home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. He enjoys a peaceful home life paired with fun outdoor adventures and would thrive with adopters who appreciate both his affectionate side and his enthusiasm for walks. He could be happy as the only dog soaking up all the attention or with another respectful dog. Because he values his personal space, we think he'd do best with older children who understand how to respect a dog's boundaries. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Heartworm negative and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply to adopt Ringo, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age or breed of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: [email protected]
