RIVER

River came to us very scared and shut down, but it has been so heartwarming to watch her blossom as she realized she was finally safe and loved. Every day, more of her sweet, silly personality shines through, and she has brought so much joy into our home. She loves cuddles, kisses, and playing with her toys. River absolutely adores our 50-pound dog and bonded with him right away, so we think she'd thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help continue building her confidence and give her a best friend to play with. She's a quick learner, already using pee pads consistently and knowing how to sit! We're just starting to introduce walks, and while she's still a little nervous outside, she's making progress every day. River is looking for a patient, loving family who will continue helping her grow into the confident, happy girl we know she's meant to be. It took her a couple of days to allow us to pet her (rightfully so with the circumstances) but with constant love and patience she truly is the biggest cuddle bug ever. Because she was so scared at first, we just started incorporating walks. She is still nervous about the stairs and just being on the harness and leash, but she amazes me everyday with her confidence growing.
