River

River was pulled from over capacity shelter, emaciated and very ill with kennel cough. We are a small one dog at a time rescue. River has completed quarantine/ medication and is eating well and becoming more playful every day. She is ready to go to a foster to adopt home ( she still needs a spay after sufficient weight gain). She seems to be dog friendly ( meeting from short distance- shes been on quarantine) and friendly but maybe too interested in our very dog friendly cat. Loves everyone she has met, men, women and children. Very very sweet. She was thought to be an older girl but has stated to become very playful now that shes feeling better which makes me believe she may just have lived a rough life and not be as old as thought ( shelter guessed 8). She obviously was used to produce many litters of puppies. She deserves to be a cherished furry family member after all she has endured and will repay any love shown to her Ten fold. She is very willing to please and listens well because of this. She has great recall to the point where she has been in our chicken pasture with us and although interested in possibly playing with a chicken, listens so well that she has not. She is a very sweet, good girl! Educated guess that she is mastiff or cane corso mix.
