My Story

Rocky is a smart, handsome, and affectionate dog. He has unlimited potential with a loving human and stability. He is great on a leash and loves walking, running and hiking and would love being trained in agility. He is very patient with high energy loud young children with no reaction to a child being rough with him. He loves playing with other dogs and is very gentle and patient in his play. He is great with cats, goats and chickens and generally ignores them. He is a good guard dog, barking when someone approaches the house but gives them kisses when his foster introduces him and tells him it's okay. He is otherwise silent. He takes a few days to feel safe in new spaces, being a little standoffish, but once he's settled, his personality comes out and he will want to cuddle and love you and is very laidback. He's still a puppy in a big body and is finding new experiences he needs to adjust to, such as running close to his foster when the scary garbage truck comes by. He tolerates crates and is great in car rides, getting excited if someone opens a car door. Rocky needs to learn the potty routine in the home and has no accidents once he does within a day or two. Removing rugs that other animals have had accidents on is key to his success. He has not mastered asking to go out, so regular trips outside or an open door help him avoid accidents. He had no accidents at night when crated or in a closed bedroom with his foster.
