Meet Shakira -- or "Kira," as her foster mom lovingly calls her. This adorable 2.5-year-old 28# mixed breed was found by a kind citizen after being grazed by a car. Thankfully, she is okay and ready for her fresh start. While her past is unknown, it's possible Kira has never lived in a home before. At just 27 pounds, Kira is the perfect little lap dog who wants nothing more than to be by her people's side. She absolutely loves attention and will happily flop onto her back for belly rubs any chance she gets. Kira gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in her foster home and especially enjoys playing with dogs her size. She also adores the 9-year-old child in the home, who affectionately calls her "Jellybean." But would likely do best with kids older than this since she gets nervous when there is a lot going of commotion with young kids. Kira rides well in the car, though her short little legs mean she appreciates a helping hand getting in. She is crate trained with a little encouragement and is currently working hard on mastering her house manners.
