My Story

Meet Sheba. Sheba's story is a pretty sad one. In early 2024, Sheba's owner passed away. Prior to this, it had just been her and her person for her entire life. She didn't have much experience socializing outside of the home, which unfortunately made the next part of her journey, a difficult adjustment. On top of all of that, no one was aware of her previous owner's passing for almost a week and she was left alone in the house with them. Once it was discovered, animal control stepped in and took Sheba. Shortly after this, ACS found out about Sheba's story and had her transferred to us. She was overweight, full of anxiety and very shut down. A couple of months down the road, she was adopted. Unfortunately, 2 years later, she is back with us. Her adopter tried very hard, but overall it was not a good fit. While Sheba can be uncomfortable in new situations, she thrives with consistency, mental and physical outlets, and patience. Sheba is fully trained and we are looking for an adopter that is able to and more importantly, wants to, continue her training and confidence building. If you are looking for a bit of a challenge, but also the reward of constant companionship and giving a dog in need the home they desperately deserve- Sheba is your girl.
