My Story

Here's an updated bio that naturally incorporates Shilo's history while keeping the focus on his future: Meet Shilo! Shilo is a striking 3-year-old, 78 lb, Husky/Desert Wolfdog mix with a heart as big as his beautiful smile. Originally rescued in Kuwait, he has already made an incredible journey to safety, traveling all the way to Virginia. Now, he's just waiting for one more opportunity—a committed foster or trial family to help him make the final trip to the Pacific Northwest. Shilo's story is one of resilience. After his previous family abandoned him at a dog hotel, where he was left for months without payment, he found his way into rescue. Despite being let down by the people he trusted, Shilo has never lost his love for others. During his time in rescue, he has met countless male and female dogs and has done wonderfully with every one of them. He is social, friendly, and enjoys the company of other dogs. He's also great with kids, making him a wonderful addition to the right family. As a large, active boy, Shilo will thrive with a family that enjoys outdoor adventures, walks, hikes, or simply giving him plenty of opportunities to exercise and be part of the action. In return, he'll reward you with unwavering loyalty and companionship. Shilo is fully vetted, neutered, and ready to find the forever home he's been waiting for. All he needs is a foster or trial commitment to secure his flight to the Pacific Northwest. After traveling thousands of miles from Kuwait and overcoming abandonment, Shilo is hoping his next journey is the last one he'll ever have to make—straight into the loving arms of his forever family.
