My Story

Age: 8-10 years old Weight: 13 pounds Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home Cat friendly: Yea, with dog savvy cats. Kid friendly: older respectful kids only Potty trained: Yes, mostly Crate trained: No Tempie is approximately 8-10 years old, 13 pounds, and appears to be some kind of yorkie mix / tiny stuffed animal brought to life. She was found hiding under a car in January, and despite searching for her family, no one ever came forward. She clearly had a home at some point because this girl is VERY committed to the indoor lifestyle. Tempie's ideal day consists of following her person from room to room, supervising all household activities from a blanket nest, accepting treats, and then immediately falling asleep again. She is low energy and would be perfectly happy with a short daily walk and then several consecutive hours of cozy couch time. She loves being held and getting tucked into blankets. When Tempie was first found, she was extremely timid and spent about a week hiding in a closet while she figured things out. She can still be nervous with new people at first and will bark briefly at strangers, but once she bonds with someone, she becomes a devoted little shadow. She would thrive in a quieter home with someone around often - honestly, she was born to be somebody's tiny retired lady companion. She does fine with other dogs but mostly just tolerates them. She currently lives with cats and likes to chase them occasionally, though the cats themselves seem completely unconcerned and sometimes even encourage it. She hasn't been around kids in foster care, but her gentle nature makes us think she'd likely do well with respectful children. Tempie is mostly potty trained, but because she's little and older, she does best with someone attentive to her cues. She will let you know she needs to go out - the catch is that her signal is subtle and the timeline is... urgent. She sleeps happily in a dog bed but would strongly prefer sleeping tucked into a human bed if allowed. She cannot jump onto furniture herself, so she appreciates being chauffeured to her preferred lounging locations. If you are looking for a tiny, low-maintenance companion whose main hobbies are cuddling, quietly following you around, and existing adorably, Tempie may be your girl. Adoption fee: $695
