My Story

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Venus! Venus is a 5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix weighing about 45 lbs. She's currently being fostered in Woodinville, WA and is available for meet and greets with local adopters. For those outside Washington, out-of-state adoption is possible once an approved adopter is lined up. This gorgeous girl is incredibly sweet and affectionateshes the kind of dog who will gently rest her head on your lap and gaze at you like youre her whole world. Venus is calm and people-oriented, happy to match your energy whether its relaxing on the couch or joining you for an outdoor adventure. Shes been fostered in homes with other dogs and currently enjoys play sessions with a friendly neighbor pup. Venus loves to run, wrestle, and explore with her canine companions. She especially shines during backyard zoomies and will happily romp around in circles with a buddy. Venus also loves toys and prefers playing with her humans over other dogs. Her zoomies and little woo of excitement are just part of her fun, goofy charm. She adores playing in waterwhether its a kiddie pool or stream on a trail, shell splash around with joy. She also rides great in the car, making her a perfect companion for road trips, park visits, or trail days. There are cats in her foster home, and Venus shows a strong interest in chasing them. While she hasnt had direct contact, a cat-free home or one with very dog-savvy cats would be best. Venus enjoys daily walks and is especially fond of nature trails. Shes still working on leash mannersshe can pull somebut shes learning quickly and is very food motivated. She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and even trustworthy when left loose in the house. She eats with enthusiasm and does best when fed separately using a slow feeder to prevent her from sneaking bites of other dogs meals. While she hasnt met young children, her foster believes she could do well in a family with older, respectful kids who understand boundaries and enjoy including her in their day-to-day fun. Venus would thrive in a home where shes truly part of the family. Whether its splashing in water, riding shotgun on a weekend getaway, or simply curling up next to you at the end of the day, Venus will bring a whole lot of loveand a few happy woosto her forever home.
