My Story
Hello! I'm Zoey, a seven-month-old pup who appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier/Cattle Dog mix (that's our best guess), which means I'm smart, eager to learn, adorable, and full of good vibes. I'm also a foodie! I love snacks, treats, dinner time, finding treasures on the ground, and the occasional safe people food. Because I love food and learning, training comes naturally to me, and I'm always excited to learn something new.
I'm potty trained and have already learned sit, high five, recall, fetch, drop it, and how to let my people know when I need to go outside. First I stand by the door and look at you, and if you take too long, I'll sit by the door and let you know with my voice. My foster mom and I are still working on riding in the car, socializing with people and other pets, and improving my leash manners. I've been friendly with everyone I've met so far and enjoy making new friends wherever I go.
I thrive on a steady routine and currently enjoy two walks a day, sometimes totaling up to three miles. My crate is my safe place, and I happily go there when I'm feeling uncertain or when there are loud noises around me. I'm very athletic and active, but having a quiet place to decompress helps me stay calm and balanced when life gets a little overwhelming.
My foster mom says it's hard to believe I'm only seven months old because I'm making huge strides in my development and already understand more than many dogs my age. She says I'll do best with a family that enjoys training, communication, and spending quality time together. If you're looking for a smart, active companion who loves to learn and wants to be part of the action, I just might be your girl!
All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations.
