Meet Bass! Bass is a handsome mixed-breed boy with a heart as big as his journey. When he first arrived in rescue, he was severely underweight at just 21 pounds and fighting an infection from his neuter surgery. With good food, care, and love, he has steadily gained weight and is looking healthier every day. He also required surgery for entropion for his eye which will definitely make him more comfortable! The first picture and video are from the shelter, followed by what he looks like now While we don't know everything about Bass's past, it has likely shaped some of his behaviors. He can be a bit pushy with other male dogs and will do best with thoughtful introductions and an owner who can provide guidance and structure. Despite that, Bass has been successfully fostered in a home with multiple other dogs and continues to make progress. His past definitely shaped how protective he is with his food. This poor kid clearly spent too much of his life starving and as such, may always need to be fed separately. What truly shines about Bass is his affectionate nature. He is deeply cuddly, loves being close to his people, and is happiest when he can curl up beside you for some quality snuggle time. Once he trusts you, his sweet and loving personality is impossible to resist. Bass is looking for a family willing to see beyond his rough start and give him the stability, patience, and love he deserves.
