My Story

Meet Cheeto! Cheeto is a handsome 1-year-old Black Tri Australian Shepherd with a sweet personality and a playful side. He enjoys spending time with other dogs and loves having canine companions to play and interact with. Whether he's running around the yard or simply relaxing near another pup, Cheeto feels happiest with a dog friend by his side. Cheeto is still learning to build confidence around people and unfamiliar situations. He will thrive in a patient, understanding home that can give him the time, reassurance, and encouragement he needs to continue growing and gaining trust. Because he takes comfort from other dogs, he would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help him adjust and feel secure. A securely fenced yard is required so Cheeto can safely play, explore, and build confidence at his own pace. As a young Australian Shepherd, he will benefit from regular exercise, structure, and positive experiences in his new home. With kindness, consistency, and companionship, Cheeto has all the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. If you're looking for a sweet young Aussie who would thrive with a canine buddy and a supportive family, Cheeto may be the perfect match! ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
