My Story

Cowboy is a 5-year-old, 25-pound Pug/Chihuahua mix from New York City with a heart as big as his adorable smile. Sweet, easygoing, and incredibly affectionate, Cowboy is the kind of dog who simply wants to be wherever his people are. After coming to Waggytail as an owner surrender, Cowboy settled into foster life almost immediately. He's embraced the good life, spending his days napping, following his foster around the house, and enjoying leisurely neighborhood walks. Cowboy is as smart as he is handsome. He already knows "sit," is eager to keep learning, and is fully house-trained. He walks beautifully on a leash and has been a wonderful houseguest with no behavioral concerns. His future family will simply need to continue reinforcing all the great habits he's already developed. At night, Cowboy sleeps peacefully in his crate and is perfectly content relaxing on his own during the day. While toys don't do much for him, quality time with his humans absolutely does. Whether he's curled up beside you on the couch or quietly supervising dinner (he's surprisingly picky, despite being interested in whatever you're eating!), Cowboy is happiest just being part of the family. Cowboy would thrive in a low- to medium-energy home that enjoys a balance of cozy days and occasional adventures. He's adaptable enough to be an only dog soaking up all the attention or to share his home with another friendly pup. He'd also do well with children who are respectful and gentle. Cowboy is truly one of those dogs who makes life a little sweeter. With his gentle nature, loving heart, and loyal companionship, he's ready to become someone's very best friend and make coming home the best part of every day. Cowboy is vaccinated for rabies, dhpp, bordatella. Heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered.
