My Story
Personality: Once I feel comfortable, I'm a happy little companion who loves snuggling on the couch, burrowing under the covers, and hanging out with my humans
Education: Working on potty training
Favorite Activities: Loves to tug and fetch.
Looking For: A loving home where he will receive care, dedication and attention, and where he can continue training to be the best boy. He will need advocacy by his pawrents that he can be only adored at from a distance and he doesn't like being touched by strangers.
Special Needs/Concerns: Will need training and support for reactivity and behavior issues due to past abuse and trauma. But he's come SO far!
Bio: Hi there! My name is Nicky, and I'm a 7.5-year-old Chihuahua weighing about 11 pounds. I'm a sweet little guy looking for a loving new home after my owner sadly became too ill to care for me anymore. I'm fully vaccinated, healthy, and ready to find my perfect match!
I may be a little "spicy" at first - true to my Chihuahua roots - but deep down, I just want to be part of the family and included in everyday life. New people and unfamiliar places can make me nervous, but I've made great progress and am no longer on anxiety medication. With patience, understanding, and proper introductions, I'm able to adjust to new people and dogs and become affectionate in my own special way. I just appreciate being allowed to approach things at my own pace.
Once I feel comfortable, I'm a happy little companion who loves snuggling on the couch, burrowing under the covers, and hanging out with my humans. I'm especially playful around mealtime and could happily play ball all day long! I also enjoy paddle boarding, hiking, chasing my tail, building cozy pillow forts for naps, treats, and jumping around when I'm excited.
Like many pups, I still have a few things I'm working on. I'm not fully potty trained yet and may have occasional accidents. I'll also need continued support with my stranger danger, dog reactivity, and some anxiety around walks and feeding time. Because of this, I'd do best in a calm, mellow home without small children or lots of foot and dog traffic. A home with a yard would be a dream come true for me!
If you're looking for a loyal little companion and are willing to give me the patience and love I need to continue growing, I just might be your guy.
