My Story
Personality: Rusko is a very sweet and gentle dog who loves to be petted. She is a little timid, has medium-low energy level, and is pretty low maintenance.
Education: Rusko is bathroom trained and is good on the leash. She does not have separation anxiety, so crate is not needed.
Favorite Activities: This beautiful girl loves to be petted and loves to spring contests with her humans, and she always wins!
Looking For: Rusko is looking for a mellow home without children or with older kids who can respect her boundaries.
Special Needs/Concerns: None
Bio: Meet Rusko: The Treat-Lovin', Boundary-Respectin', Sprint-Champ Queen!
Looking for a loyal companion who's low-key but high on heart? Meet Rusko, a 4-year-old, 30 lb, spayed female Shepherd mix with a heart as soft as her ear floofs (and they are very floofy). She was rescued from a not-so-pawesome shelter in Ensenada by The Animal Pad and is now ready for her glow-up story: starring YOU.
Rusko's Special Skills Include:
- Mastering the potty game (bathroom trained? Check!)
- Slaying walkies on a leash like a supermodel on the catwalk
- Being low-maintenance and high reward
- Accepting pets like royalty-no kisses please, but polite affection is most welcome
What Rusko isn't:
- A fan of chaos, loud noises, or fetch. (Toys? Ew.)
- A cuddler-but pet her gently and she'll melt faster than butter on a sidewalk in August.
- The life of the dog park. She's more of a "one-human fan club" kinda gal.
What she is:
- A sprinter extraordinaire! Don't even try to outpace her-you will lose.
- A calm, quiet presence for your home. Mellow vibes only, please.
- A sweet soul who's working hard on her confidence, and just needs time (and treats) to bloom
Rusko's Ideal Home:
- Possibly the only pup (she'd love to hog all the love), but could do okay with a slow intro to a calm dog.
- No cats, please-we just don't know yet.
- No young kiddos. Older, dog-savvy kids who respect boundaries? Maybe. But toddlers with grabby hands? That's a no from Rusko.
- A human who understands that trust takes time, but is worth every patient minute.
Have a busy schedule? No prob. Rusko doesn't have separation anxiety, but she will wait by the door hoping for more pets when you get home. Preferably a quieter home where she can slowly decompress, with someone who respects her space as much as she'll respect yours.
Bonus Fun Fact: Rusko is very treat-motivated and is picking up indoor manners like a champ! Outside is a bit overstimulating (so many smells, so little time), so she's still working on focusing when out and about.
If you're into gentle walks, quiet evenings, respectful affection, and having a four-legged friend who doesn't require constant attention (but definitely wants your love), Rusko might just be the low-key, high-loyalty love of your life.
