My Story

Thistle ID# 19408 Kennel #321 Arrived May 29th (Stray) Terrier Mix Grey, Tan, and Black Female 10 Years Old 13.5 lbs Up to Date on Vaccines Heartworm Negative Thistle is a ten-year-old grey, tan, and black Terrier mix with a scruffy, salt-and-pepper coat, warm brown eyes, and the kind of wise, gentle face that only comes with a life well lived. She arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on May 29th, and how a sweet, knowing little girl like this ends up without a home at ten years old is a question without a good answer. What is certain is that she deserves far better than a shelter kennel, and she deserves it now. Thistle is sweet, cute as can be, and already knows sit. She is the kind of small, calm, easy-to-love dog that fits beautifully into a quiet home and fills it with warmth just by being present. Thistle does have a skin allergy that will need to be evaluated by an outside veterinarian after adoption a new adopter will want to follow up with their vet to get her the proper diagnosis and care plan so she can be as comfortable as possible. There is a particular injustice in a ten-year-old dog sitting in a shelter kennel. Senior dogs feel uncertainty deeply, and Thistle has already been through enough. She is not asking for much a warm place to rest, gentle hands, and someone who will see her through her next chapter with the love and attention she so clearly deserves. Thistle is a little girl with a big heart and so many good days still ahead of her. Adopting a senior is one of the most profound and rewarding things a person can do, and Thistle will repay that kindness tenfold. Come meet her in Kennel #321 that scruffy, silver face and those soft brown eyes will stay with you long after you leave.
