Meet the Darling Dana!
If there were a competition for "Most Photogenic Puppy," Dana would be taking home the blue ribbon. Just look at that face! With her expressive eyes, fluffy coat, and endless adorable head tilts, this 5-month-old Great Pyrenees mix seems to know exactly where the camera is at all times. She's already over 40 pounds and still has plenty of growing to do, so she'll be a big, beautiful girl when she's fully grown.
Dana's story started with a bit of a scare. She arrived at rescue with her brother, who tested positive for parvo. Both puppies were hospitalized out of an abundance of caution, but we're happy to report that Dana never contracted the virus and has been given a clean bill of health. Now she's ready to leave that chapter behind and find the loving family she's been waiting for.
Like any puppy, Dana is full of curiosity and is learning about the world one day at a time. She's currently potty trained to puppy pads, and her foster family has been helping her transition to pottying outside. She's making great progress and just needs a family who will continue building on the excellent foundation she's already started.
Dana is wonderfully independent for a puppy and is perfectly content entertaining herself or relaxing nearby. As she's grown, she's also started showing some classic Livestock Guardian Dog and herding breed traits. She's observant, thoughtful, and likes to keep an eye on what's happening around her. Because of this, Dana would do best with an adopter who understands these breeds and is committed to providing the structure, training, and boundaries she'll need as she matures into a well-rounded adult.
This smart girl will thrive with positive guidance, consistency, and plenty of opportunities to use both her brain and her body. With the right family, she'll grow into a loyal, devoted companion who is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
Dana has already overcome a difficult start in life, and through it all she's remained sweet, resilient, and full of promise. Now all she needs is a forever family to help her write the happiest chapter yet.
