My Story

Meet Sage!

Sage is a sweet 4-year-old, 28.4 lb girl looking for a forever home with her best friend, Miley. These two have a strong bond and will need to be adopted together so they can continue sharing life's adventures side by side.

Sage and Miley were surrendered by their owner after repeatedly escaping their yard and helping themselves to the neighbors' chickens. While this behavior certainly shows their adventurous side, it also means that a securely fenced yard is a must for their future home. They both will be moving to a foster home where we hope to learn more about their tendencies to escape and whether it was related to their environment, lack of supervision, or simply a love of exploring.

According to their previous owner, Sage and Miley have lived successfully with both cats and children. They are friendly with people and do well with larger dogs. While proper introductions are always important, Sage's history suggests she could be a wonderful addition to many different types of families.

Although Sage has reportedly lived peacefully with cats, her history with chickens means she should not be placed in a home with poultry or other small critters.

Sage is already spayed and has tested negative for heartworm. Before traveling to her adoptive home, she will have her vaccinations updated, receive a fecal test, be microchipped, and be started on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

We are still getting to know Sage and look forward to learning more about her personality while she is in foster care. As we gather more information, we will continue to update her profile. What we already know is that she is a friendly girl who shares a special bond with Miley and deserves a loving family committed to keeping them together.

If you're ready to open your heart and home to a wonderful bonded pair, Sage and Millie may be exactly the companions you've been searching for.
